Volunteers Needed
We're seeking volunteers who might be interested in performing any of the services listed below. It's activities like these that can quickly overwhelm the Board, and we want to be able to provide the best possible service for our neighborhood. Please contact us if you are interested.
Architecture Committee
This person (or group) would review proposed improvements to the homes in our community (e.g. painting, roofing, adding a structure or fence, etc.) to make sure what is being proposed is consistent with the CC&Rs.
Welcome Committee
This person (or group) would contact new homeowners and provide them with a welcome packet and other association information.
Fence Custodian
We're looking for someone with a gift for light construction that would be willing to make minor repairs to our fence. This would be on an as-needed basis, and the Association would cover all materials. We have some spots in need of repair now, so we're very interested in finding someone willing to help out!
Newsletter Delivery
We're looking for a group that would be willing to deliver newsletters and other Association information to our homes (to save on postage). This would probably need this service 4-5 times a year.
Garage Sale Organizer
This person would organize the annual garage sale for our neighborhood. Duties would be very light - posting signs, possibly submitting an ad for the newspaper.

Park update
We're in the process of selecting a new play structure to replace the one we had to remove. We're looking for something aimed at younger children that will fit into the existing safety area. Hopefully, we'll have something installed before September. Over the next 2-3 years, we're planning to expand the play area to the other side of the parking lot and install play structures suitable for older children and gatherings (including swings, rock wall, etc.) We're also planning to replace the basketball hoop, install park benches and possibly a BBQ. The details will be discussed at the next homeowners meeting. If you have any questions or input, please contact us. We want to solicit as many opinions as possible.

Welcome! From your new board members.
We're just getting started, learning about our resources and beginning to set priorities that are important to our association. We hope these quarterly newsletters will reflect your concerns and help answer some of your questions. Our goal is to serve you, our fellow members. One way you can impact our decisions, volunteer or ask questions is through our e-mail address (dhhoa@earthlink.net). For those of you without e-mail, our phone message line is 1-425-785-2267. Or just write us at: P.O. Box 1187, Maple Valley, WA 98038. We want to hear about what's important to you!
We also wanted to commend homeowners who border the hill just behind 230th Ave. Disputes over trees blocking the views of neighbors above (but providing privacy for neighbors below) are beginning to be resolved through open communication and sharing responsibility. That is the foundation of a great neighborhood. Thanks to all who are cooperating.
